Leah Walks!

Leah decided that today was the day that she would start walking. She has been standing on her own for the past few weeks, but she hasn't made any attempt at walking. Well, today she just took off! Really! It was a sight to see and it definitely made our day :).

Swinging

What was special about todays adventure at the park was that it was Leah's first time on the swing...definitely a moment to document. She was a little nervous at first {no surprise}, but after Noah told her ten bazillion times that it was OK and that "Swinging is SO MUCH FUN!", she decided to lay her worries aside and enjoy it. And boy did she enjoy it. That little giggle is music to my ears. We pretty much spent our entire time there swinging back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...

A little nervous...

Once she realized that there was nothing to be nervous about, she would shut her eyes and feel wind blew on her face, which was accompanied by the sweetest little sigh. She also enjoyed watching the other kids run around...she's definitely a people watcher like her brother.
Now, isn't he a stud! He is so dang cute!
Noah pretty much just layed back and enjoyed the ride as I pushed him over and over again.
Noah did discover this toy on the playground and he liked it wouldn't stop spinning. It took all of my effort to stop it. He was SO dizzy when he got off...he didn't like it one bit!

Joy

This girl knows how to entertain herself, and it is such a joy to watch. Yesterday she sat by the back window with her face pressed up against it...pure joy! I sat there in silence for the longest time just watching her with a big smile on my face. If only I could have captured a picture from the other side of the window!

She also tore apart Noah's horn {that he doesn't use}. Leah's face was priceless when she pulled off each piece of fringe around the horn...too funny!

Fishy, Fishy

Today my mom treated me and the kids to an afternoon at the aquarium this afternoon. We saw lots of fishies and other crazy water animals, snakes, spiders, frogs...it's a good thing they are all locked up nice and tight! I'll admit that I was a little nervous about getting close to the spiders...nope...I don't like them one bit! Noah especially liked seeing the Nemo fishy and drving the boat...oh the joy of being a kid!

This kid was moving his finger around in circles and this crazy little fishy was following it, so it looked like it was doing flips. It was pretty funny to watch.
I get chills just looking at this picture!

Noah looking a little overwhelmed...there were SO many people there, and Noah is not a fan of crowds. He kept telling me that there were "Too many people."

There's that smile! We waited in line for 20 minutes so that Noah could have his turn at driving this boat for less than 30 seconds! He was not at all happy when his turn was over...but I wasn't about to wait in that line again. Thank goodness it was lunch time at that point!

Today...

I woke up to the sound of snow plows, and this...
Yes, it is a winter wonderland outside on April 16! Seriously?

Noah is THREE

Yes...Noah is THREE!

Yesterday morning, I just sat in bed before everyone got up and just thought about the day that Noah was born. It was such a wonderful day! The day that my first child was born. I seriously remember everything about April 12, 2006 as if it were yesterday...

...the first time I saw him, touched him, kissed him, held him, fed him, changed him...

And now he is three years old. It is amazing to think back on past three years...so much has happened! He learns and grows so quickly that we can hardy keep up with him. We adore him, cherish every moment with him, love him endlessly...he truly is the light of our lives {along with his little sis}. Happy Birthday to our little boy!

We celebrated Noah's Birthday with my parents on Saturday. Boy oh boy did he have fun! From the cupcakes, to the gifts, to playing to his hearts content...
Noah loves keys, so my dad gave him this little puzzle that has keys to open and lock. He was thrilled!

For the past few weeks, whenever I have asked Noah what he wants for his birthday, he says "A GREAT BIG GREEN GARBAGE TRUCK." Noah's cousin has a garbage truck that Noah just loves, so we had to find this for him. We searched, and searched, and searched, and we finally found it. It was NOT easy to find, but we got lucky, very lucky, and Doug and I were thrilled that we found it! And so was Noah! Noah also got a big boy bike...he was pretty happy about this gift!
After Easter dinner, we had another cake for Noah. He just loves blowing out those candles, and he does it so carefully!
And after opening some more presents, he went outside to ride his new bike.
Thank you to everyone who made Noah's birthday a very special day! We are so thankful for all of the wonderful gifts and the fact that everyone was there to celebrate with us. Here's to another year with our sweet and amazing little boy. We love you, Noah!

Easter Activities

We hope that everyone had a fabulous Easter. Noah's birthday was ON Easter this year {I will post more about his Birthday}, so we definitely had a wonderful Easter.

Of course we had to dye some Easter eggs, and we had so much fun doing it. We only had two casualties {aka...broken eggs}, and I am actually to blame for one of them. Noah had so much fun dipping the eggs in all of the many colors. He especially had a blast covering them with the stickers. Thank goodness for stickers!

On Saturday we went to the Annual Fower Family Easter Party! So much fun! My Grandma has a HUGE backyard...it is the best setting for an Easter Egg Hunt. Boy, oh boy, did the kids have fun!
Easter was a fun filled day, to say the least. Aside from it being Noah's birthday, that silly Easter Bunny came and left a load of candy and treats for Noah and Leah. He also left lots of Easter eggs around the house and Noah had a grand time finding each and every one of them. He had to shake each egg to see if there was candy in it.
They looked SO adorable in their Easter outfits. Oh my...they really are so cute!
That evening, we went to Doug's parent's house for dinner and another Easter Egg Hunt! Man oh man...we seriously have enough candy to last us until next Easter!
The cousins, minus the Kelly Family {we miss you so much!}. Seriously, that is one good looking bunch of kids!
Elizabeth and Leah...the oldest and the youngest girls. Too cute!
There was an adult Easter Egg Hunt...Doug was all over this! If there is candy involved, Doug is there! AND he will even push kids out of the way to get what he wants...he is definitely a kid at heart! Now, I didn't see what happened, but apparently Doug did something to provoke his sister to come and get the candy that he had gathered up {and, trust me, he had A LOT!}. It was fun to watch :).
Happy Easter! Until next year.

Green Beans?

Leah is a picky little eater. Very picky! She definitely prefers real food over baby food, and I don't blame her because baby food really isn't that good. Lately I have been experimenting with different foods to see what she likes, and boy has it been fun. Today I was looking in the cupboard and saw that I had some green beans, so I thought I would try it. She loved it! She didn't turn her head away from me once and she was practically begging for more. Very interesting.

Ski Day

I may complain about the snow and the cold {but I think that I have reason to because this winter seems like it is never going to end!}, BUT the one thing that I do love about where I live is wonderful skiing. I wasn't able to go last season because I was pregnant with Leah, so I was pretty excited when Doug and I were able to go this past Friday {thanks, Mom, for watching the kids}. Yes, it snowed, it was a little cold, but it was so much fun! Thank you, Doug, for a wonderful day together! You truly are the best! Doug was so patient with me, which is one of the many characteristics that I love about him. I can't wait to go again!

We are going to teach Noah to ski next season, which is something that I am so excited about. I was telling Doug on the lift that this is only the beginning of our skiing adventures, as it will be so much more fun once our children learn to ski. I can't wait until our kids our older and we all go skiing together...oh the things to look forward too! Noah was even preparing himself by sporting Doug's helmet...he's too cute!

Doug's not really a skier anymore...he definitely prefers to snowboard over ski. I actually can't remember the last time that he did ski. I guess I will have to learn one of these days. I have the equipment...I just need to do it. Doug's a very good snowboarder...it's fun to watch him :).
Noah sporting Doug's helmet.
Tough Guy!
