Afternoon Stroll
The weather today is just lovely, so we definitely had to go outside and enjoy it.
After lunch, I got everyone ready {which took about 30 minutes after getting socks on, shoes on, jackets on, going potty (twice!), getting snacks...oh my!} and we were off! Noah and Leah rode their bikes, while I pushed little Isaac in his stroller. Isaac has been so, SO, sick this past month, and I really think that he needed to get some air. I think that he really enjoyed this little outing, as did Noah and Leah. I have been waiting for a day like today for a long time...I hope that we have a lot more, and soon :).
Ready to go...Leah was very anxious to get going {notice her up ahead}.
Isaac was very mellow this afternoon...I think he's still in the process of getting back to his *normal* self. His little nose has an owie from being chapped...so sad.
Noah got ahead of Leah, and Leah wasn't having it...she'd run into him at full speed whenever he stopped. I thought it was pretty funny to watch...Leah really knows how to push Noah's buttons! She knows how to push all of our buttons, for that matter!
We ended up riding/walking around for a good hour...it was absolutely wonderful!
Leah got warm towards the end and abandonded her jacket. She dressed herself today...she looks like a little hippie with all of that color and flowers! And those sunglasses...love it! She's definitely a girl!

Fun and Crazy Girl
Leah is so much fun! Our family would not be the same without this little ball of energy!
She speaks so, SO, well and I just love hearing what she has to say next. She uses the word "actually" all of the time, which is just so cute to hear! Whenever it's time to eat she'll say, "Actually, Mom, I'm just not hungry right now." Or, "I actually like *this* instead of *that*."
She is constantly saying "I love you SO much" to me, Doug, Noah, and Isaac. And she's so genuine when she says it...it's very sweet.
She changes her clothes ALL.OF.THE.TIME! At least 6 times per day. It's ridiculous, but that's her thing and she loves to change her look up...every few hours. She has some dress up dresses that she got for Christmas that she is just in love with...especially her Cinderella dress. She actually went to the store the other day wearing it...there was no way that I was going to convince her otherwise, and I wasn't about to go to the store with an upset 2 year old! It was great fun!
She is not the best eater in the world, but at least she'll eat something at every meal. I tell her that her button {meaning her belly button} is hungry and that she has to feed it...she believes me and will eat and say "I need to fill up my button". Ha!
She LOVES Barney! I'm not a huge fan, BUT I can tolerate it. The good thing about Barney, is that she has learned SO many songs! She LOVES to sing and she has ALL of the songs memorized. It's pretty great to watch her sing AND dance along when they sing. It's classic :). Oh, and she thinks that Barney is a GIRL. And don't convince her otherwise. If you ask her why Barney's a girl, she says that "She's purple!". Good point.
She has an attitude. It's a good one too! If you try to get her to do something that she doesn't want to do, watch out! She doesn't neccessarily cry, but, instead, has this "you can't tell me what to do" attitude and she'll scowl and stomp her feet too. She'll even run into her room and shut the room. I laugh every time! She's going to be a great teenager...I can just feel it!
She's a smart cookie...she knows her ABC's, can count to 20, knows her colors and shapes {even a diamond and hexagon}...
She loves music, singing, and dancing. I'm starting her in dance next month...should be fun!
She absolutely loves to talk on the phone and every.single.time that I am on the phone, she will constantly ask who it is and if she can talk to them. Noah was never like this...he still isn't a fan of talking on the phone. Must be a girl thing :).
She does not like to have her picture taken...makes me sad. She runs every time I pull out the camera. Sometimes she will come and tell me to take her picture, and as soon as those words are spoken, I hurry and grab the camera and jump on the opportunity.
If you ask her when is her birthday, she'll say "March 21...I'm going to be THREE!". She is well aware that her birthday is next month...she is constantly reminding me that she wants a pink princess party.
I better enjoy this last month of Leah being 2...I don't want her to turn 3! She's growing up too fast for my liking...

Shoveling

It snowed today...this is *supposed* to be one of the last storms of the year. I'll believe it when I see it ;).
The one thing that I really don't mind about the snow is shoveling the driveway and walks. I've just always enjoyed doing this, and I'm lucky that Noah loves it too! Whenever it snows, he keeps reminding me that we need to shovel...even when it's freezing outside. I swear, kids have no sense of what cold is...he'll go outside and play in the snow no matter how cold it is!
Well, Noah was more than willing to help me shovel this morning. We have a pretty big driveway, so it takes a while, but Noah is actually a really good helper and is very focused when it comes to shoveling! I'm so thankful that he loves to help!

What is LOVE?
According to Noah, LOVE is...
How cute is that?!?! I just love getting stuff like this from my babes...seeing this made me have a grin that lasted the rest of the day, or even longer! I love being a Mom!

Isaac ~ 8 Months
This has not been the best month for Isaac. He has pretty much been under the weather the entire month due to being sick and getting two teeth. It has worn me out too...I'm beginning to think that sick kids is just as hard on Mommy as it is on the kiddos. Needless to say, I'm a bit tired. AND...just when I thought that Isaac was getting better, he started to get sick again this past weekend. Breaks my heart! But, on top of being sick, he is still such a happy little guy. Yes, he has his moments when all he want is for us to hold him, but I love those moments because I know that they don't last long. Here are some actual *highlights* from this past month:
~ He has two cute little teeth. I just LOVE when he smiles and grins so that we can see them!
~ He is growing like a weed. He is such a long little boy, but he's way skinny...just like his bro and sis. It looks like I have another stringbean on my hands...good thing I'm good at finding clothes and altering them for the kiddos :).
~ He is on the move! He is everywhere and into everything! He doesn't stop or slow down when he is on the ground. He is the fastest little crawler...I think that he is moving around a lot faster than Noah and Leah were at his age. We definitely can't leave him alone anymore.
~ He is SO determined to get what he wants. AND, if he doesn't get his way, he'll let you know how he feels about it.
~ He is finally a good little sleeper. I am VERY thankful for that!
~ He's our little snuggle-bug. He absolutely loves to be held and cuddled. It's the best!
~ Now...he's a good sleeper once he goes to sleep, but getting him to sleep is another story. Since he likes to cuddle, he *won't* go to bed in his crib by himself. He will *only* go to sleep if he is held until he falls asleep. He's so spoiled!
~ He absolutely loves to eat solids now...especially peas! He LOVES them! When we're feeding him, and he wants more, he starts to kick his legs like crazy. It's so dang funny. This goes back to his determination to get what he wants ;).
~ Leah thinks that she is Isaac's second mommy and says that he's her baby. She is constantly trying to hold him, and he absolutely hates it when she does this. I know that she does this all out of love...but she's two...
~ He went through a phase this past month where he was sucking his finger constantly. He doesn't do it as often anymore, but it was pretty cute when he was doing it.
We can't imagine our family without him. He's a little treasure and we can't get enough of him :). Now...I just need to figure out a way to make time stop because I am just LOVING having a little baby around the house! I better enjoy every minute, because I'm well aware of how fast the time goes by.
Bright green pea lips!
Sucking on his little finger. Love that look!
He chews on everything...his favorite is to chew on Noah's trains. Noah doesn't think it's very funny.
Isaac always has something in his hand. He loves these little rings and usually crawls around with one in each hand.
Making a mess.
Tolerating his sister.

Children's Museum
We are getting a *little* tired of staying inside...there is only so much that I can do to keep the kiddos entertained. So, there was a deal on a pass to the Children's Museum, so I jumped on the opportunity to get it so that we could have somewhere to go on these cold days. We went for the first time this past week and the kids had so.much.fun! The smiles on their faces didn't leave the entire time...good times.
Leah LOVED playing with the balls...you put them in this pipe and the air sucks them up into the maze of pipes over head. Very fascinating.
Isaac enjoyed sitting in Grandma's arms and watching everything that was going on.
Leah all dressed up like a construction worker.
Noah could have spent the entire time playing on the crane and building. He LOVES this kind of stuff!
Playing in the water was a huge hit!
And playing in the cars was even more fun :).
There is this room upstairs with all of these fun toys...stuff that I've never even seen before. Even I had a fun time playing.
We definitely look forward to going back!

Isaac's First Teeth

Can you see them??
So...on top of being very sick over the past 2 weeks, my little guy has also been teething like crazy. His first tooth *finally* popped through last week, and his second made its appearance just the other day. I really can't tell you how miserable Isaac has been due to his teeth...it makes me so sad to see him in pain. Needless to say, there has been a lot of crying lately. But, as soon as that second tooth came in, his smiles started to delight us once again. I'm so happy to have my happy little baby back...at least untill *all* of those other teeth come in.
And here are some other pictures of Isaac that are so, so, cute :).

Sick Days {or weeks}
It breaks my heart to see my kids sick. We have been dreading getting "the sickness" that is going around, but it hit hard this week. I have been doing laundry around the clock and giving Leah and Isaac at least 3 bathes a day. Yes...we got "that" sickness, the one that I absolutely dread because all of the baggage that comes along with it makes even that much worse. During it all, the kids seem to be in brighter spirits then I would have imagined, which makes it all that much easier for me. This was our life this week, so here are some pictures of the good and peaceful times.
Isaac has not felt good at all for pretty much the entire week...but he still shares his precious smile even when he is under the weather. This proves that he is seriously the happies baby...and I love him for it.
And is this not the cutest tubby time picture ever?!?! So, so cute!
The night before last, Leah was *literally* up the entire night. Thankfully, she was able to catch up on her beauty sleep by sleeping the entire afternoon away yesterday...in my bed, of course! She was in higher spirits after this, thank goodness. She is such a bear when she doesn't feel well, which is not fun for anyone involved.
Noah had a little cough this week, but nothing that would make him officially *sick*. He was in good spirits and was such a helper to me. I'm thankful for this little guy every.single.day. He keeps me grounded when times are rough around here...especially when he is constantly telling me that he loves me and give me lots and LOTS of hugs. I'm glad that he was my first born :).

Precious Moment
I had to share this cute video of Noah and Leah on Doug's birthday. When we were driving to dinner, they fell asleep...holding hands. Now, this is not something new...they actually hold hands all of the time when we are driving around in the car. This is just the first time that I captured it on video, and I'm so glad that I did :).

Daddy had a birthday...
...last week!
It's been a crazy week here in the Smith Household. The sickness that we have been dreading finally hit, and it's NOT good. The kids are all down napping {finally}, so I am now able to write a little something about my sweetheart's birthday.
Doug turned one year older this past Saturday, and he was SO excited about it {not really}. Noah has been looking forward to Daddy's birthday for weeks, so we definitely had to make a whole weekend of it for the kids sake, right?! Plus, I LOVE celebrating birthdays, so we had a whole lot of fun stuff planned to make Doug's day super-duper special :).
Friday ~ I planned a lunch with Doug's family at The Pie! OK...now it has to be said that The Pie is the best.pizza.ever! With that said, it was a wonderful lunch! We got our favorite pizza and hung out with some of our most favorite people. Good, GOOD, times ;).
Doug and his younger sister, Alli.
Kristen, Steff, Elijah {so cute!}, and Alli. The girls are pretty darn cute too :).
These three good lookin' boys are the best of friends...I'm so glad that they have one another :).
Saturday ~ Doug's actual birthday. Doug wanted to go snowboarding on his birthday, so, after sleeping in {oops!}, we headed up to SLC to drop the kiddos off at my parent's house {thanks, again, mom and dad!} and then headed up to Park City. I was expecting it to be really busy with the Sundance Film Festival going on, but it really wasn't that busy at all. It snowed most of the day, and it was a bit cold, but we still had a great time. I absolutely love this resort...it's SO beautiful.
After our day on the slopes, we headed back to get the kids and go to Doug's other favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse! My mom and dad were able to come to, which was great! The kids were on their best behavior...it's SO nice that they are being so good when we go out...this means that we can go out more often with them! Doug and I both agreed that this was one of our best meals there...it was delicious! And, those rolls, oh my, they are seriously the BEST!
Sunday ~ No birthday is complete without a cake, candles, and singing "Happy Birthday"! Noah and Leah helped me make some cupcakes after church, and that evening Doug's parents came over to help us celebrate Doug's b-day one last time. I made peanut butter frosting {YUM!} for the cupcakes, and we sang to Doug, and Doug had the help of his precious little boy and girl to blow out his candles. Then we devoured the goodness that is the peanut butter cupcake.
Doug and Isaac {aka...Doug's mini-me!}. They look SO much alike to me.
Love Leah's bed head from her nap earlier that day! Awesome.

Doug...I love you more than you will ever know. We all had such a wonderful weekend celebrating YOU! You are so special to all of us, and we hope that you had a fabulous Birthday! LOVE YOU!

Isaac ~ 7 Months
~ He started eating solids, and he's finally starting to enjoy it. My method with introducing food to my little ones is make it *somewhat* fun. Sometimes I just put the food on his tray and let him play with it, and if some of it makes it's way in his mouth, then good job Isaac :). Up until about a week ago, everything that I put in his mouth with the spoon came right out! He's just learning to keep what I give him in, and to swallow it. I've kind of given up on store bought food {it's just so expensive, and some other things that I won't go in to}, so we have started to make baby food here at home for him. He actually likes this food so much more...I don't know why I haven't done this before! Live and learn.
~ He can sit by himself.
~ He can crawl, and he crawls *everywhere*! Let the baby proofing begin!
~ He can go from crawling to sitting. That's actually harder than it sounds, but he's mastered doing it.
~ Needless to say...he is very mobile. We are having fun watching him discover new things with his mobility. I've had to sit down with both Noah and Leah and talk to them about keeping little toys and food off of the floor, and to pick up anything if Isaac shouldn't have it. They seem to understand and have been a huge help to me in this department, which is great!
~ Although he does like to spend time on the floor playing, he still prefers to be held. He is a mommy's boy, but, if he's in the right mood, he doesn't care who is holding him. Just as long as he's being held. He just loves to snuggle :).
~ He will let you know when he is unhappy...that little cry of his breaks my little heart. Thankfully, he doesn't cry too often.
~ He wakes up two times in the middle of the night...and I'm sick of it! I am being a little sarcastic, but I really am SO ready for a good nights sleep. Noah and Leah aren't any better, but I just won't go there right now in regards to those two punks {we wake up almost *every* morning with them in our bed!}! Despite waking up twice, he is a great napper...that's a good thing :). He's a growing boy!
~ His hair is growing like crazy...and it's coming in SO dark. I love it!
~ He's a little featherweight. At his 6 month appointment, he was barely 16 pounds. I attribute it to his mobility, because he is a very good eater.
I'm still in awe that Isaac has been in our lives for 7 months...I truly can't imagine our family without him. He makes us complete. Here are some pictures from this past month for your viewing pleasure. Man, oh man, he's cute :). I can't get enough!
