California ~ Day 1

We haven't gone on an actual {long} vacation for over two years!  Our favorite vacation spot is southern California, so we decided to take a week long trip with Doug's sister and her family, and my mom decided to come along as well.  We had such a wonderful time and made some lasting memories!

After a long car ride, we finally made it to our destination...Newport Beach.

After a good nights sleep, we decided to head to the beach so that the kids could see the ocean.  I love the beach so much...it's so amazing!  It took Isaac a little bit to warm up to being there, but after taking in what was going on, he really loved it.  We all did :).

After going to the beach, we decided to head back to our hotel and go swimming.  The pool was so big, and Noah and Leah had so much fun!  Those two would stay in the pool all day if I let them.  Isaac isn't a big fan of swimming, but he did get in for a little bit with us.  He and Kate preferred to sit out and watch, so that's where I spent most of my time too.  

After swimming, we packed up to head to our hotel near Disneyland.  We decided to drive up the coast and ended up at Huntington Beach.  We got out for a bit and walked up the pier...it was so pretty!  It was fun to watch all the people and the surfers.  It was definitely a good day to start our trip!
