Leah ~ 6 Years

Oh how we love this little gal.  She is definitely full of lots of spice and everything nice!  At age six, Leah...

...is very, VERY, girly!  She loves all things pink and pretty, and is always very adamant about looking nice.  She loves wearing accessories like necklaces and bracelets, and is very excited to be able to wear different earrings.  She also loves to paint her nails, as well as mine and Kate's, and is always wanting to redo them.  She never, ever, gets bored of coming up with new nail patterns.

...absolutely loves school!  I wasn't at all surprised by this.  She has always loved to learn, and kindergarten has been so great for her.  She is already reading at the first grade level and, according to her teacher, is thriving in all subjects.  She is known for doing all of her homework the first day she gets it, so I'm always having to come up with new things for her to do throughout the week to keep her busy at home.  I'm so proud of her and her thirst for knowledge.

...loves to read!  She absolutely loves to read and never complains when I ask her to get her reading done.  Going to the library is one of her favorite things to do and she loves to get lost in all the stories that she reads.  I love that she loves to ready!

...can be very dramatic!  She is a pro at making a big deal out of the littlest things.  Sometimes it's entertaining, and sometimes it's flat out annoying.  We've all gotten used to it around here.

...is very loving, and will tell us all of the time that she loves us.  She can't go anywhere or do anything without giving me a hug and telling me she loves me.  I love this about her.  Noah gets a little bugged by it, but I guess that's normal coming from an almost 8 year old.  If Noah leaves for school without giving her a hug goodbye, watch out!  She will get so upset!  This goes along with the whole drama thing...it's crazy.  I have had to lecture Noah to just let her give him a big hug so that she is content.  It really is such a big deal to her!

...is very dependable when it comes to doing chores.  She will make her bed and clean up her room as soon as she's done eating breakfast.  Then she'll clean out the dishwasher and do her reading...all without me even asking!  She is so helpful and will always ask me if there is anything more that she needs to do when she is done with her morning chores.  It's wonderful!  I can always count on Leah to help me out.  And she never complains at all when I ask her for help.  Love her!

...is not as picky of an eater as she used to be.  Thank goodness for that!  She is actually starting to branch out more and try new things...it's great.  The only down fall is that she eats like a bird...depending on what she has.  She definitely prefers certain foods and is know to eat lots of dairy every day.  She loves cheese SO much!  She can't go a day without eating it...and watching her eat her favorite food is pretty hilarious.  She just sits and says "mmmmm" the entire time.   So funny!

...is becoming a very responsible little gal.  She recently got her ears pierced, and we have to clean her ears 3 times every day.  She never, ever, forgets about this and will always remind me that it has to be done.  If it doesn't happen, then she gets really irritated with herself and will make sure she doesn't forget again.  She's also really good at always clearing her plates at meal time and putting food away when she is done eating.

...is very, very, social!  She isn't at all shy about going up to new people and is making friends whenever we go somewhere new.  Just today, we went to the park and she made 3 friends!  She will talk to anyone and everyone, especially if I'm there with her.  She knows about stranger danger and will not talk to anyone if I'm not near by.  She has made so many new friends at school this year, it's crazy!  Noah was never this social, so it's pretty funny to watch Leah around people.  Everyone in our neighborhood knows who she is, even people I just barely know!  She also LOVES to talk on the phone and will talk your ear off.  Yep, she's definitely not the quiet one in the family!

...is taking dance at the moment, but has told me that she doesn't like it very  much.  We are going to try gymnastics at the end of the school year to see how well she likes it.  I have a feeling she'll like it more than dance.  We'll see.  I am kind of thinking she'd be good at drama...maybe we'll sign her up for a play at school when she gets older?

...has a crazy good memory!  Doug and I swear that she has a photographic memory.  She will remember the littlest of details, which just blows my mind sometimes.  She's also really good at the game, Memory...she beats us every time!  Noah won't even play with her anymore, she's that good.  She has all of her favorite books memorized word for word, as well as movies.  It's pretty impressive.

...absolutely loves her siblings.  She has such a special little bond with each of them.  She and Noah have had their moments lately, but they really do love one another so much!  Isaac is so dependent on her and Kate already looks up to her as a role model.  It's pretty precious!

...is a GREAT little sleeper!  She is out within minutes of hitting the pillow every night.  She is also known for taking naps here and there, which is just wonderful!

...is oh, so very thoughtful and is constantly making all of us little gifts.  She absolutely loves to draw is she just loves to make little creations for us.  She is such a sweet girl and we love her precious gifts.

Words can't express how thankful we are to have Leah in our family.  She makes every day so fun and we love that beautiful little smile of hers that she graces us with all of the time.  We love  you baby girl...to the moon and stars and back!!
