Hogle Zoo

We went to Hogle Zoo today with my cousins and their kids and we had a fabulous time! I was actually quite surprised by Noah's reaction to the animals though. He absolutely LOVES to read his animal books and he pretty much knows all of them, so I thought that he would thoroughly enjoy seeing them in real life. WRONG!!! He was pretty scared when we started to see the animals and he wanted me to hold him the entire time. If I put him down, he would start screaming and beg me to pick him up, which, of course, I did. He finally started to warm up to the animals, but he was still very cautious and wouldn't let me out of his sight. Despite this new found fear, which brought on many screaming fits, we had a great time and I look forward to going back. Noah's favorite part of the day was, of course, the train ride. He is such a boy! Yes, Leah was great the entire time! I love that she is so patient so that I am able to focus on the demanding little two year old!

Dr. Appointment & Mini Photo Shoot

I took Leah to the doctor today for her 2 month appointment and everything went wonderfully! Noah was very nervous the entire time that we were there {he isn't a huge fan of going to the doctor}. He was by Leah's side while the doctor examined her and he got really nervous when she started to make some sounds...not crying, just wimpers. He is a very protective brother and he gets really concerned whenever anyone other then mom or dad hold Leah. Leah was an angel and was very cooperative, thank goodness! Here are her 2 month stats:
Height ~ 24.5" {95th percentile}
Weight ~ 10 lbs 15 oz {50th percentile}
Head Circum. ~ 39.5 cm {50th percentile}

I had a mini photo shoot with the Noah and Leah today. I love, love, love taking pictures of these cute kids! I love to document almost everything that they do! Here are some cute shots...
Noah loves to hold Leah. He is such a good big bro!

Leah ~ Two Months

Today is Leah's Two Month Birthday! Where, oh where, has the time gone? It is amazing to me how much Leah has grown during the past 2 months. I take her to the doctor on Friday, so I will let you know her stats then. Like her brother, she has grown a ton in length during the past few weeks. These kids are definitely going to be tall when they grow up! Here are some fun facts about Leah from this past month:

~ She LOVES to sleep! As a gift to me today, she slept from 11:30 pm to 8:30 am! Yes, my little angel slept 9 hours straight!
~ She showers us with smiles whenever she is awake! She especially loves to smile at Noah, and Noah giggles every time! So cute!
~ She seems to be the happiest when Noah is around. Maybe Noah's whining, crying, laughing, and talking soothes her. His whining annoys the heck out of me...I am glad that someone enjoys it!
~ She is extremely alert and she loves to observe everything around her.
~ She can now lift her head really well without any support.
~ She has discovered her hands and she loves to sit in her chair and stare at hands and move them around. It's so funny watching her when she does this. She is still in the process of getting good control of her hands because sometimes she slaps herself in the face, which usually leads to crying. She's learning :).

Well, those are some of the highlights from this past month. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure :).

Outdoor Adventures

The weather was too nice yesterday to stay home, so we decided to go on a family outing up Provo Canyon.

First stop ~ Bridal Veil Falls. Noah was very nervous of the river beneath the falls, and I told Doug that he should be nervous because it is so dangerous! Smart kid. He had us hold him the entire time due to this fear. Aside from the river, he thoroughly enjoyed watching the waterfall. It isn't as strong as it once was, but it was still fun to see. I love seeing these discoveries through Noah's eyes. It’s like seeing a waterfall for the first time...total amazement!
Second stop ~ Sundance. It was so beautiful up at Sundance yesterday! The weather was warm and there was a perfect breeze that made the temperature just right. We walked up a few trails and watched the fish in the pond. We had to head home earlier then expected because I forgot the sunscreen for Noah and he was getting red fast! It honestly didn't even occur to me to bring sunscreen...I guess I didn't realize how nice the weather was going to be.

Doug and I are going to be taking the kids outdoors a lot this summer, so stay tuned for our fun outdoor adventures.

Oh...there are no pictures of Leah because she was an angel and slept the entire time. So here is a picture of her from last night for your viewing pleasure :).

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!! I hope that all of you wonderful Mother's are having a fabulous day today!

I have such a wonderful Mom and I am so thankful for her and all that she has done for me throughout my life. Now that I am a mom myself, I can truely appreciate all that she has done for me and the love that she has for me. My mom has always gone above and beyond and she has been there for me through thick and thin. She is such a wonderful woman and I am so grateful that she is MY mom! I love you Mom!!!

I absolutely LOVE being a mom! It is by far the best job in the whole entire world and I wouldn't trade it for anything! I have the most wonderful children and I am so grateful to be their mother and to spend each and every day with them. I know that they truly appreciate me and all that I do for them, which makes me feel so good. Noah shows me his love every day by constantly showering me with hugs and kisses, and I cherish each and every one of them! I love Noah and Leah with all of my heart and I am proud to say that I am their mom!

I spent most of the day today just relaxing and not doing anything around the house...I needed a break! Doug was so wonderful and let me lounge around and relax, which was wonderful! Doug also changed every diaper today, which was one of the best gifts he could have given me :). We spent the evening with Doug's family and we had such a wonderful time. Needless to say, I had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Here is a picture of my sweet family from today...

Jump Around {at Kangaroo Zoo!}

Yesterday we went to a Birthday Party for my cousin's kids, Lincoln and Breann, at Kangaroo Zoo! Oh my, I can't even begin to tell you how much fun Noah had yesterday! When we got there, he was a little hesitant, but as soon as he went down the slide he was hooked! He had so much fun running around, jumping around, and going down all of the slides! He was so red in the face and sweating so much that I had to pull him aside to get a drink so that he could catch his breath, but he didn't have the energy to rest, so he was off to play again as soon as he could. I had so much fun playing with Noah at Kangaroo Zoo and I can guarantee you that we will be going back very soon!

Noah Jumpin' Around

Noah had no problem climbling the ladder all by himself!

You would think that he was tired and worn out by the red face and wet hair...don't let that fool you! Noah was off to play again as soon as I snapped this picture.

Here is a video of Noah going down the slide...he had so much fun!!

Doug & Guy Fieri

Guess who Doug met today?!?!? Guy Fieri from the Food Network!!! Doug called me at lunch and told me that he went to Pat's BBQ in Salt Lake, where they were filming for Guy's show Diner's, Drive In's & Dive's. I was so excited because that is one of my favorite shows on the Food Network! I told him that he had to go and get a picture taken with him, so here he is with the Food Network star! I'm jealous!!!
