Fun In The Tub

Noah LOVES tubby time!! Here he is getting squirt by Daddy. Don't worry...Noah got him back really good! Doug was pretty much drenched once tubby time was over!

Success

One of the concerns that I have had since becoming pregnant is how we are going to potty train Noah when I have another baby in the house. I know that it is something that I shouldn’t stress about, but it has been a major worry of mine. Well, I did some research and I read how most toddlers are ready to be introduced to the potty between 18 and 20 months old. Doug and I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to buy a potty seat for Noah and gradually start to introduce him to sitting on it and everything that is associated with it. I refuse to use a separate potty seat {it is just too gross for me}, so we bought Noah a seat that goes on the actual potty. We started sitting him on it at the beginning of January and the first time that we put him on it he went #1!!! I was AMAZED that he knew exactly what to do!! Since then, during every diaper change, I sit him on the potty and sometimes we have success, and sometimes we don’t. We do a reward system with him, so every time he goes #1 he gets an M&M, and if he goes #2 he gets two M&Ms.

WELL, today was a wonderful day! This afternoon, Noah walked in my room and he said that he was “poopy” {that is his terminology for the potty…I tell him that it is the potty, but he sticks with his own phrasing}. He then walked out of the room and walked back in with his pants in his hands…he had pulled his pants off all by himself! I thought to myself that he had gone potty and just wanted his diaper changed, so I started to change his diaper, but his diaper was dry! As soon as his diaper was off he got up and went over and climbed on his potty and went #1!!! He has NEVER done this before!! I usually am the one to put him on the potty and I have to remind him what to do…but not this time! He did everything all by himself…and he is only 22 months old!! I was so excited…I guess the past 1 ½ months of patience and teaching has paid off! I am sure that there will be some bumps in the road as we continue to potty train him, but today was a day to remember!

Sorry to ramble on and on…I tend to do that sometimes.

Happy Valentine's Day

Oh, how I love my sweetheart!! Doug is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am so very thankful to have him in my life!! I am not a huge fan of Valentine's Day...I think that our love for one another should be celebrated EVERY day :). Although, it is nice to have a special day to really celebrate your love for one another, as well as the other people in your life! I don't know what I would do with out my sweet Noah...he is definitely my Valentine too! Happy Valentine's Day to the two most special people in my life!! I love you both more then words could ever describe!!!

34 Weeks!!!

I can't believe that I only have 6 weeks left of this pregnancy! The time has gone by so incredibly fast and I wish that I could slow it down. I went to the doctor this past Friday and he said that everything is wonderful. The baby's heart beat is very strong and I am actually measuring smaller then I did with Noah! At every appointment they talk to me about the size of the baby and how they don't want me to deliver another 10 pounder!! So, at 37 weeks I am going to have an ultrasound to determine her actual weight. If she IS as big as Noah was, then I will most likely will be induced one to two weeks early...it just depends. This little girl is mover and she likes to keep me on my toes all of the time. I am having a really hard time sleeping at night because she is constantly moving! I hope that this isn't a sign of things yet to come! Noah was a mover too, and he didn't stop when he was born...he still hasn't stopped moving. I am feeling pretty well though, despite the sleepless nights. Noah keeps me so busy that I hardly have time to sit down and think of all of the things that I need to do to prepare for this little one. Oh...and we don't have a name yet! We have a few names that we like, but we are just going to wait until she is born and surprise everyone :).

I thought that it would be fun to have everyone guess how big they think this baby is going to be. Now, Noah was 10 pounds and he was 21 1/2 inches long. Post a comment on this entry with your guess for the weight and height of this baby. Who can guess the closest to the actual size??? And, just to make it more fun, the winner will get a little something when we see you after the baby is born {don't get too excited...it isn't going to be that extravagant, but it will be some thing good (LOL!!)}. Good luck!

Computers

Computers are very important in my family. My dad is an Electrical Engineer and he LOVES computers...I consider him a computer genius since he loves to put computers together from scratch! Needless to say, I pretty much grew up with many computers in my house, and it is still that way at my parent's house!! Well, Doug loves computers too, which is great because this interest between my dad and Doug has brought them very close. Well, it seems as though Noah loves computers too!!! Whenever he gets his hands on a keyboard or mouse, he becomes very serious and doesn't want to be bothered...trust me, he knows what he is doing {well, he acts as though he knows what he is doing}. I guess a love for computers runs in the family!
