The Park

I enjoy the fall season, but it makes me sad to know that the horrible COLD season is upon us, so I am taking advantage of any warm weather that we have by taking the kids to the park almost every day! I really don't know what I am going to do once it starts to get cold outside! I so don't like the cold weather {the only good thing about winter is skiing...but that's it, in my opinion} and I am so not looking forward to not being able to spend our days outside! I am hoping for a mellow and short winter this year...we'll see what happens, as we can never base our winters on the winter before here in Utah. Anyway, here we are at the park today...

Noah going up to the slide
Noah coming down the slide. I just love how his hair sticks up from all of the static!
Noah loves to jump off of everything...here he is in action!
Leah loves to sit on her blanket and watch Noah go down the slide. She really does adore her brother!
So happy!

Sneaky Boy

I was waiting for Noah to wake up this morning, and it was getting pretty late, so I thought that I would peek in his room. This is what I found...

He was having a grand old time playing with this truck on his bed, therefore he found no need to let me know that he was awake. I tell him that he can't get out of his bed without me {I can only imagine what he would do if he thought he had free rein to do whatever he wanted, especially by himself!}, so, being the smart boy that he is, he grabbed the closest toy and started to play with it IN bed! I just had to document this moment :).

Noah's First UTAH Football Game

We took Noah to his first Utah football game yesterday. Yes, we were a little nervous that it would be a complete disaster, primarily because he didn't take a nap, but Noah surprised us by being a great little guy during the entire game. When we first got to our seats, he was so amazed by everything that was going on around him. It was so much fun for Doug and I to watch him take it all in. He loved watching the game and he kept saying "Go Utes" and pointing at "the guys" {aka, football players} throwing the ball. He also loved it when Swoop came up and down the stairs by our seats, which was quite often. At the end of the game, when he was getting a little restless, I pointed out the cheerleaders and he became so interested in watching them do their stunts...it was pretty funny to watch him so focused on them. All in all, we had a wonderful time at the game with Noah and we are glad that we decided to take him. What made it even better was that WE WON!!! GO UTES!!

Here's Noah when we first got to our seats...he couldn't stop looking around to see what was going on.
Noah pointing at the football players.
Family Picture...Noah had no interest in looking at the camera. Oh well.
Here is a video of Noah at the game. You can hear him say "Go Utes" at the beginning, as well as talking about the "guys" on the field.

Leah ~ 6 Month Stats

I took Leah to the doctor today for her 6 month appointment, and here are her stats from today:

Weight ~ 14 lbs 15 oz {25th percentile}
Height ~ 27 1/4 in {95th PLUS percentile!!}
Head Circum ~ 43 cm {75th percentile}

I was a little nervous about Leah's weight, but the doctor told me that she is perfect in terms of her growth. She is so tall and she is thin, but she still has a ton of baby fat on her. She is just a petite little thing, and we are just fine with that.

When we got home from the doctor, I pulled out Noah's stats from his 6 month appointment, and I was in awe at the difference:

Weight ~ 19 lbs 5 oz {80th percentile!}
Height ~ 29 in {100th PLUS percentile!}
Head Circum ~ 45 3/4 cm {90th percentile!}
Um....he was definitely a CHUNK!

Noah ~ 6 Months

If you remember a few months back, I was going to start posting pictures of Noah from when he was a baby on a regular basis...that idea obviously fell through! Well, today I was looking at some pictures of Noah when he was 6 months old and I thought that I would share.

Noah was attempting to crawl when he was 6 months.
This month was pretty hard because Noah was teething...notice his red cheeks.
I adore this picture of Noah!

Sitting up.
Why...hello there!
Noah LOVED tubby time when he was a baby...what baby doesn't??
DROOLER!!
Noah broke his first two teeth when he was 6 months. Funny picture!

Sometimes I can't believe that he was once this small! Amazing!

Leah ~ 6 Months

She's SIX MONTHS old! These past six months have been so wonderful! When we first had Leah, I was so nervous about everything because I now had two children to take care of...I was SO wrong! Everything has been so much BETTER! Leah has enriched all of our lives and I am so thankful to have her...she's the best! Here's what Leah has been up to...

~ She is sitting up all on her own without any support. She does crash and burn every so often, but not very much. Now, let me just say that sitting up is the BEST milestone! Leah is so much more happy now that she can sit and look around, all while playing with her toys. I think that I love that she can sit up more then she does :).
~ She is a LOUD little girl. As you saw last month, Leah has discovered her voice, and she LOVES it. I am glad that she finds her singing amusing, because it is starting to wear on me. Don't get me wrong, I love that she is learning and that she likes to be vocal, but she is so LOUD! I guess I better just learn to deal with it. It's a good thing she's cute :).
~ She has the cutest belly laugh ever! I love getting her to laugh and seeing her smile. She especially loves to laugh at Noah...he knows how to get a good giggle out of her.
~ She wants to be held all of the time...ok, well, majority of the time. I will set her down for a moment, and as soon as I do she will start freaking out...and as soon as I pick her up she is just fine and full of smiles. She really knows how to get what she wants :).
~ She's a petite little thing. Noah was SO big as a baby, so it is strange having a baby that is so small and actually fits into the clothes that coorespond with her age...you know what I mean? Noah was in 12 month clothes when he was 6 months old...not Leah. She is taking her time and staying little as long as she can...and she is doing it just for me :). I love that she is so tiny and cute. She can take all the time that she likes to get grow. I am taking her in for her 6 month check up this week, so I will let you know how big she really is then.
~ Her hair is really starting to come in and we are beginning to think that she might have curly hair! She has these hairs that are way long by her ears and they curl sometimes. I would love it if she had curly hair...we'll see soon enough.
~ She's still a great little sleeper...and I am so thankful for that!

~ She started eating solids this month, and she loves it!
~ Her favorite toys are my phone, the TV remote, Noah's toys {which he doesn't really like}, and the tags on anything {blankets, clothes, toys...}.
~ She is a good traveler, as we learned from our trip to Lake Powell this past month. I was so nervous that it would be hard on her to be away from home and on a different schedule, but it didn't even phase her. I think that we need to go on another vacation now that we know that she is good at adjusting to a new environment! So, who wants to to on a trip with me?!?!?

And, of course, here are some pictures of Leah from this past month for your enjoyment :).

Notice Leah's mini mohawk.
Sitting up nice and tall.
I put a pillow behind her because I don't want her to bonk her cute little head. It makes me sad to see her cry.
So precious!
Check out those long lashes!
Concentrating so hard on getting the tag on the ball.
BTW...this ball is awesome! It has ribbons all over it so there is an endless amount of "tags" to grab! Love it!
Another first cereal picture.
Here's Leah in her UTAH attire! Red looks so good on her :).
OH...and there will be A LOT more about my Utes coming up here soon :). GO UTES!!!!

Boys Night

Let me just begin by saying that painting is SO NOT FUN! Nothing about it is fun to me...not the taping, or the prepping, or the painting itself...none of it! Now, that being said, we are painting the our house! Well, we are painting the ceiling, base boards, and doors...yes, we are painting the hard stuff, which makes painting even that more NOT FUN! Anyway, Doug and our WONDERFUL bro-in-law and friend painted on Friday night, which meant that I got to leave the house so that my sweet kiddos didn't have to inhale the fumes from the paint. We decided to crash at Steff's house and I think that we had tons more fun then we would have if we stayed to help the painters :). It was a party at Steff's house as all of the boy cousins {Utah residents} were there to have a fun time together. Ryan was there too, although he spent most of his time snoozing on his mom's shoulder, and I must say that I was so jealous of him...I wish that I was able to sleep anytime, anywhere...that would be a dream! So, the boys decided to make a bed on the floor, so, of course, this was a picture perfect moment! These boys are SO cute and I just love them all to pieces!
Noah, Connor, Alex, and Jacob
I am seriously amazed that I got these little guys to sit still for this picture!

Oh, and the paint job that the boys did was FABULOUS!! Thank you a million times to Doug and our friends for helping us out!! You're the best :)!!

Happy Birthday Georgia!!!

Happy Birthday Georgia!!

My sweet little niece, Georgia, is 7 years old today!!! Georgia was born the first year that Doug and I started dating and it has been so great to be part of her life from the beginning. She is such a happy, funny, fun loving little girl and we just love her to pieces!! We miss you so much and always look forward to seeing you! We hope that you have a FABULOUS day today!!

This picture is from when we went to Disneyland with Doug's family in November 2003.
This is Georgia crawling across the table when we were In-n-Out Burger. This picture always makes us smile :).
This was taken in June of this year when the Kelly family came to visit.

Leah's First Cereal

We started Leah on cereal this week and she LOVES it! I just love adding new things to my kids lives and see how they handle it. She had no problem eating it and she kept majority of it in her mouth...she's a fast little learner!

First Bite

Happy Girl!

Here is Noah when he first started cereal. As you can see, he was more interested in the spoon then the cereal.
Happy Boy!

"It's Yucky!"

Whenever Noah eats something that he doesn't like, which is quite often, he says to me that "It's yucky", which is accompanied by this face...
I can't help but laugh every time! I am actually quite amazed that I got this face on camera! Oh...the memories!

Big Boy Bed

We moved Noah to his BIG BOY BED yesterday, and he couldn't be happier! Doug and I were pretty nervous about it, as we kept thinking the worse...meaning we thought that Noah was going to think that being in this bed meant that he could get in and out of bed as he pleased. Well, we were pleasantly surprised when he slept the entire night without trying to get out of bed once! AND, when morning came, he called my name and waited for me to come in his room before he climbed out...such a good boy! I just hope that these manners continue :). Now I just have to get him potty trained...I am not have the best of luck in this department...any suggestions?!?!?

Happy Birthday Erin!

Happy Birthday Erin!!

Today is my niece, Erin's, Golden Birthday...she is turning 11 years old on September 11th. We love you so very much and we hope that you had a fabulous birthday!
Doug and I LOVE this picture of Erin. She is a little actress...and she's good at it!
Here is Erin with a more of a happy face...she knows how to make everyone around her happy :).

Lake Powell ~ 2008

I LOVE Lake Powell! When I was younger, my mom and dad owned a boat and we would go to Powell during the summer, and I can honestly say that those summers were some of the best that I can remember! I love boating, and I especially love boating at Lake Powell...it's amazing! I haven't been to Lake Powell in almost 10 years, so I was ecstatic when we were given the opportunity to go this summer...and for 9 days! Doug has never been to Powell, so I was very excited for him to be able to see how amazing it truly is! {Doug had to come home a little early due to school and work, but I was so glad that he was able to come down the time that he did, and we beyond missed him when he wasn't there!!} We stayed on a brand new houseboat, and it was absolutely amazing! It was so great to experience this trip on such a nice houseboat! It rained a little on our first and second day there, but it didn't stop us from having a good time. We parked the houseboat on a sandy beach, which was perfect because I could take Noah out to play in the sand and walk around. Our days consisted of relaxing on the boat, going boating, playing on the beach, taking nice hikes, sleeping, eating some YUMMY food, playing in the water {and going down the slide on the houseboat}, and just having a grand old time! This trip was so great and I am so thankful that we have such wonderful friends that would think of inviting us...thank you! We made so many great memories on this trip...it was wonderful!

Here are some pictures from our trip {I took close to 300 pictures, so I picked some of the best to share}. The first 5 are my favorites, then there is a slide show with a lot more pictures :).
