Puddle Jumper Shoes

I am always on the lookout for a cute pair of shoes for Noah, and today I found some! Check out Puddle Jumper Shoes....they are absolutely adorable! The little girl shoes are the cutest, but I am obviously not in the market for those. I think I might have to purchase a pair of these for Noah:

Hogle Zoo

I have been wanting to take Noah to the zoo because he LOVES animals, so I was excited when I was able to with my family last week. Last Tuesday, me, Noah , my mom {Kris}, Grandpa and Grandma {Paul and Bev}, aunt {Karin}, and cousins {Jana, Karli, and Rob (he is actually Jana’s boyfriend, not cousin)} went to spend a day at the zoo, and it was absolutely fabulous! We had such a wonderful time….laughing, seeing, enjoying one another’s company. We went to a bird show, which was fabulous, and then we spent our precious time walking around looking at all of the beautiful animals. Noah was so good and he enjoyed staring at all of the animals. He especially liked the gorilla because she was sitting right up by the glass, so Noah was literally inches away from her. We had such a wonderful time and I know that we will go back soon. Here are some pictures from our fun filled day:

Snow in June?

Ok…I have lived in Utah my entire life and I know that the weather here can be very strange. Yes, this past week it has been beautiful, warm, sunny, summer-like even! Oh, but not today! Snow in June, you ask? YES! It snowed in the mountains today! Can you believe it?!?!? I tell ya….I can handle the snow in the winter, but, come on, not in June! Here are some pictures of the mountains from my parent’s house from this afternoon. Can you believe it?

Flip Flops

I LOVE Flip Flops! I don't think I ever wear regular shoes when it is warm outside. I was on another blog today and I saw a post for flip flops at The Gap. I went and checked them out on Gap.com and I love them! The bonus is that they are all on sale for $10! I think I might have to go and purchase some for summer! I especially like these ones.

Happy June!

I can't believe that it is already June! Summer is almost here...yay!!! I love to be outside and I would much rather deal with the warm/hot weather then the cold weather...I can't stand the cold! It is such a beautful time of year right now and I am so glad that it is just starting!! I have so much to look forward to this summer. I want to make sure that I go on a lot of hikes this summer so that I can go and see the beautiful wild flowers...I love wild flowers! Anyway, Happy June!

Busy Week!

I have been meaning to post all week, but I have been so busy. Doug had Monday off, so we just relaxed together as a family. There were two Jazz games this week, and we are still mourning their loss last night! Noah and I went to the zoo on Tuesday, and I wrecked my car by hitting a huge dip (there were no construction signs!!). Today Noah and I went to the pool with some other moms in our neighborhood. And...tonight Doug and I are going to The Killers concert! I will be posting pictures tomorrow :). Have a great day!

Who Needs Toys?!?!

Why do I buy toys for Noah if he would rather just walk around the house with his broom all day long? Seriously, Noah would rather walk around the house with his broom instead of play with any of his other toys! Sometimes I have to hide the broom from him so that he actually does play with some of his other toys. Oh well...as long as he is happy!

IKEA Is Open!!!

I meant to post this yesterday....better late then never!

I said that I was going to go to the grand opening of IKEA, and I did! I was planning on going later in the day, but Noah woke up early so I figured why not just go now. We got to IKEA at 8:30, thirty minutes before it opened. The traffic really wasn’t that bad and I got a prime parking spot right in the front! I put Noah in his stroller and I headed towards the front of the store. The governor was speaking as soon as I got up there.

I figured I better go and get in line, so I headed to the side of the building, then to the back of the building…it was a VERY long line. Once I got in line I made friends with the girls in front of me, which made the time go by a lot faster. The line started to move right at 9:00 and I made it to the front of the store by 9:10! There was loud music playing and here were girls dressed in Swedish dresses (look at the cute girl in front) and the employees had noise makers and were screaming. It was so much fun!!! I got a gift card for $10 for being one of the first ones there! My dad decided to come to enjoy the grand opening with me…he showed up a little bit after me. Here he is coming up the elevator (he is in white).
I was so happy when we started to walk around the store…I was really in IKEA and it was in my home town! IKEA is seriously my favorite store and I am so excited to have in Utah! Dad and I walked around the store for a good hour and we were both overwhelmed with all of the choices in the store. I will admit that it was busy, but that store is so big that it didn’t seem like there were very many people there once everyone spread throughout the entire store.

I let Noah walk around and check out some of the stuff in the store.
Noah had finally had enough and was ready to go home, so my dad offered to take him to his house so that I could do some shopping (he is such a nice Grandpa!). I spent another hour or so just walking around and I chose a few items to purchase…I had to buy something! I bought Noah a train set, rugs for the house, a glass jar for Noah’s cookies, and some other odds and ends. Doug and I are going to go back this weekend and get some furniture.

I am so excited that IKEA is FINALLY here! I “heart” IKEA!!!

A Little Taller

Look what Noah can do...

He is now tall enough to open all of the doors in our house! He is very proud of himself each and every time that he opens a door. Doug and I now have to lock all of the doors so that he doesn't get into trouble!

My Handbag Creation

Check out this handbag that I made today. I came up with the pattern on my own, so it took me a little while to get it the way that I wanted it. I am proud of myself for making this completely from scratch. Here are some pictures:

The inside has one pocket and a removable bottom insert to hold the bottom flat.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I have been pretty sick the past few days, so it has taken me a while to get to this post.

I hope that all you mothers out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I appreciate my mom so much more now that I am a mom myself. Thank you mom for all that you do and have done for me and my family. You are so wonderful and I love you dearly!

I am so thankful to be a mom and to have such a wonderful little boy of my own. Noah has changed me and has allowed me to love in a way that I never knew possible. I can’t imagine my life without Noah and I am thankful each and everyday that he is in my life. Being a mom is definitely the most rewarding thing that I have ever experienced, and I look forward to the many more experiences to come!

The New Do!

We took Noah to get his first haircut today. We went to a place called Cookie Cutters and they did a wonderful job. This shop is just for kids and they make getting your hair cut so much fun. They let you pick out a movie for them to watch while they are getting their hair cut, and they get a sucker while they are getting their hair cut too! Noah has absolutely no interest in T.V., so thank goodness he had a sucker to keep him occupied! The chair that he sat in was a fire truck, which made the experience so much more fun. Noah was really good while the lady cut his hair, although we did have to distract him a few times when he started to whimper. He was a good sport and he looks so stylish with his new do! We got a First Hair Cut Certificate for Noah that has a lock of his hair, the date, and a picture of him with his hair cut: Here is Noah's "Before Haircut" picture:Here is Noah's "During Haircut" picture:
and here is Noah's "After Haircut" picture. Doesn't he look so handsome! He is such a big boy!:

Digital Scrapbooking

Digital Scrapbooking is my new hobby! I absolutely LOVE it and I am having so much fun with it! I have always loved scrapbooking with paper, and I still do, but there are things that I can do with Photoshop that would take me forever to do the "old fashioned" way! This way there is no mess and no little hands (aka Noah) picking up my stuff and throwing it everywhere! Here are some of the pages that I have created over the past few weeks:

Embroidery Pillow

I made this embroidery for my mom for her birthday. She wanted me to make it into a pillow and I just finished it today. Here is the final product:
